Mirpur slum catches fire

DHAKA: A fire broke out at a slum at Bhashantek in Mirpur area of the capital on Friday afternoon.

On information, four fire fighting units of from Mirpur Fire Service and Civil Defence and a nearby fire station rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

Fire Bridge sources said the fire originated at Bhashantek Slum in Mirpur-14 around 1:13 pm.

The reason behind the fire and the extent of loss caused by it could not be known immediately.

The duty officer of Fire Control Room Shahjadi Sultana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
