Building ‘Sonar Bangla’ possible

RANGPUR: US ambassador to Dhaka Dan W Mozena on Thursday said the dream of building ‘Sonar Bangla’ would be possible if all of country’s resources can be utilized properly.

Bangladesh would be a middle income country, if all worked together, he added.

The ambassador was addressing a discussion titled “Woman Empowerment in Bangladesh” at the Central Library & Information Center auditorium of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.

Mozena said: “Woman’s works will have to be evaluated; the importance of woman is boundless in improving the living standard, which the Bangladeshi women have understood.”

“The Bangladeshis love the works, which the USA is doing in empowering woman of the country; there is no alternative of quality education to the country’s development and woman empowerment,” he added.

Praising the Bangladeshis’ hospitality, Mozena said “they are very good; I am with the country’s development and will remain with it in future too.”
