The audition for the second season of “Quraner Noor,” a Quranic recitation competition, started in Chattogram city on Sunday, with the participation of hundreds of hafizes from the region.
Powered by the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group, the mega reality show – Quraner Noor International Hifzul Quran Competition-2024 – is being organised by the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Musalli Committee.
Hafizes from different parts of Chattogram division started thronging at Neyamat Noor Jame Mosque at Bakalia in the port city early in the morning.
Participants from Chattogram, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Bandarban, and Cox’s Bazar districts completed their registration process first. Then, they took part in the competition before the judges from Dhaka and Chattogram.
Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Pesh Imam Shaykhul Hadith Mufti Mohiuddin Kasem, one of the judges of the show, said a total of 10 participants will be picked from this audition for the next level.
The national-level champion of the competition will get Tk1 million while the international champion will receive Tk1.5 million.
The recorded programme will be aired on the satellite television channel, News24, and its YouTube channel during Ramadan.
