Some 19 sacks of money were collected from eight donation boxes at Pagla mosque in Kishoreganj on Saturday (May 6).

Additional District Magistrate ATM Farhad Chowdhury confirmed the information.

Ten magistrates led by Additional Deputy Commissioner ATM Farhad Chowdhury, opened eight boxes loaded with money at 8am.

Money counting was underway on the second floor of the mosque. Total amount of money will be learnt later. 

Earlier on January 7, the mosque collected Tk 4,18,16,744 from the donation boxes along with foreign currencies, gold and silver.

Hundereds of madrasa students, many bank staffs, mosque committee members and members of law enforcement agencies have taken part in counting money.

Executive magistrate Md Sirajul Islam, Sheikh Jaber Ahmed and Sadiya Afrin, Assistant General Manager of Rupali Bank  Rafikul Islam and administrative officer of the mosque Sawkat Uddin Bhuiyan were present during opening of the donation boxes.
