A student of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) committed suicide at his home early Thursday (Feb 9).

The deceased was identified as Minhazul Abedin, a student of the Mathematics Department of the university and a resident of Salamatpur village of Manirampur Upazila of Jashore district.

SM Saidur Rahman, Assistant Professor of the Mathematics department of the university confirmed the matter.

He said Minhajul Abedin, a student of the 2016-17 session of our department, committed suicide at his home around 3 am.

His mother informed the matter this morning over phone, he added.
