Prof Md Nurul Alam, pro-vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU), has been temporarily appointed as the vice chancellor of the university.

A notification, signed by deputy secretary of Ministry of Education Md Masum Ahmed, confirmed the appointment on Sunday.

The Chancellor of the university President Abdul Hamid appointed Prof Nurul Alam as Vice Chancellor of the university on a temporary period according to Article 11 (2) of the Jahangirnagar University Act 1973, said the notification.

Md Nurul Alam has been serving as the Vice-Chancellor (Education) of the University since August 14, 2016.
