JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: Jahangirnagar University Vice-Chancellor Dr Anwar Hossain has started sit-in demonstration in front of his residence from Tuesday night against the sit-in of other teachers of the varsity demanding for his removal.

Earlier, a section of teachers of JU have staged several types of protest programmes including Human chain, work abstention, sit-in and confinement of the VC, demanding resignation of him.

Later, through court order the confinement was ended but the teacher’s demonstration didn’t stop. Again the teachers took position in front of the residence of Vice-Chancellor Dr Anwar Hossain on Tuesday night.

Following the teacher’s sit-in, Dr Anwar Hossain started his sit-in program and declared that his demo will be continued till teachers’ protest is not end.

Eminent educationist Dr Anwar Hossain said, “Teachers took position in front of Vice-Chancellor’s residence. I won’t enter in the residence till they ended their sit-in.”

Meanwhile, because of his illness he took medicine in there and still stayed at the place.
