2 BCL men of SAU suspended

DHAKA: The authorities of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) suspended two Chhatra League activists of the university unit for vandalizing in Kabi Nazrul Islam hall on Thursday.

The decision came from an emergency meeting attended by Proctor M Mofazzal Hossain, student advisor Dr Nur Jahan Begum and three provosts of the halls and other senior teachers.

BCL leader Sharafat Khan has been suspended from hall and academic activities for one year and Manas Kritania Nayon from the hall for six month. 

Around 30-40 BCL activists, led by SAU unit BCL general secretary Debashis Das vandalized with rod, gas pope, hockey stick and other lethal weapon around 2:30pm and injured 10-12 general students centering an trifle matter in the TV room in the early night.

They also assaulted the university correspondents of newspapers and news portal’s and deter them from taking photos, leaving Ashikur Rahman of daily Samakal, Mahibul Alam of banglanews24 and Saddam Patwary of Jai Jai Din injured.

They snatched the camera and mobile phone from the reporters.

While contacted, the proctor told banglanews that they have deployed police to avert any unwanted situation.
