Azam J Chowdhury and Shayan F Rahman have been reelected President and Vice President of the LPG Operators Association of Bangladesh (LOAB) for the next two years.  

The election was held earlier and approved on a virtual platform at the second Annual General Meeting of LOAB. All the members of the outgoing committee were reelected as members of the Executive Committee.  

The primary aim of the LOAB is to add value to the energy sector of the country through harnessing full potential of LPG, while also promoting the compliance to good business and safety practices. 

Azam Chowdhury is the Chairman of East Coast Group, a very large diversified conglomerate engaged in this line of business for over three decades while Shayan F Rahman is Chairman and Managing Director of Beximco LPG (Unit1) Ltd.

While expressing thanks to the Members of the LOAB for reelecting him as the President, Azam Chowdhury said the association will ensure strict compliance and development of LPG business representing the complete value chain in the country.  He added, LPG industry is a service sector and the people in LP gas business have obligation to ensure uninterrupted supply of LPG to the customers in any corners of the country at reasonable price. Shyan Rahman in his reaction assured that LPG will play a vital role in the future energy mix of Bangladesh and its use will be extended from cooking gas and autogas to marine fuel and captive power generation.
