Stocks witness fall Sunday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 33 points only to stand at 4,727 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 99,282 with volume of transactions at Tk 4,230 million.

Of the issues traded, 84 advanced, 174 declined and 32 remained unchanged.

BSC topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 257 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were IDLC, SINGERBD, MPETROLEUM, BSCCL, OLYMPIC, SQURPHARMA, LANKABAFIN, GENNEXT and GP.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9,273 by dropping over 68 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 54 gained, 153 declined and 19 remained unchanged.
