Saudia Airlines, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, today inaugurated its new state-of-the-art City Ticketing Office in Dhaka, marking a milestone in its longstanding operations in Bangladesh.

The new office, located on the 16th floor of Simpletree Attalika at 134 Gulshan Avenue, was formally opened by Dr Abdullah Zafer H Bin Abiyah, ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh. He was joined by Musaed Almusaed, assistant vice president of International Regions at Saudia Airlines, and Dr. Md Nazrul Islam, secretary (East & West) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said a press release.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Dr Abiyah praised the deep ties between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia and expressed confidence that the new facility would strengthen people-to-people connections and enhance travel convenience, particularly for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

Dr Nazrul Islam welcomed Saudia’s continued investment in Bangladesh’s aviation sector, noting that the new office will help meet growing travel demand and further reinforce bilateral ties.

Saudia’s Country Manager for Bangladesh, Tarik Alowaidi, said the airline has already expanded flight frequency between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. The new Dhaka office, he added, reflects the airline’s commitment to efficiency, comfort, and accessibility.

Built to international standards, the Gulshan office is Saudia’s most advanced facility in Bangladesh. It features dedicated service counters for passengers, premium cabin travelers, and AlFursan members, along with meeting spaces for travel partners and training facilities for agents.

The airline’s General Sales Agent in Bangladesh, Ahmed Yusuf Walid, said Saudia has become a preferred carrier for long-haul travel to Europe and North America, while also offering streamlined services for Umrah pilgrims through its stopover visa program.

In addition to the Gulshan facility, Saudia will continue operating its City Ticketing Offices at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka and in Agrabad, Chattogram.

The inauguration coincided with World Tourism Day 2025, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on tourism through its Umrah Plus initiative, which encourages travelers to combine spiritual journeys with cultural and leisure experiences in the Kingdom.
