Bandarban tourism handbook needed

BANDARBAN: Sadar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Sujan Chowdhury said a handbook on Bandarban tourism is essential to attract more visitors.

He also opined that many tourists come here but there is no handbook or brochure to help them.

“Such a handbook is needed for the convenience of the tourists as many of them are not familiar with many places of Bandarban.”

Moreover, the tourists look for a reliable tourist guide, the UNO added.

According to him, the guides need training to overcome problem related to the vernaculars of the ethnic groups living in the CHT region.

He expressed his observation while addressing the discussion on the concluding day of 2-day event, organized by news portal Banglanews24.com, on the prospect of tourism in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) region at Bandarban deputy commissioner (DC) conference room on Saturday (October 22).
