DHAKA: Le Meridien Dhaka and Four Points by Sheraton Dhaka joined hands to organize the hotel ‘Charity Run’ in aid of Shishu Polli Plus. The charity run took place on Sunday at the Shishu Polli Plus campus in Sreepur, Gazipur.

This coincided with similar charity run events organized by top hotels in 27 major cities across Asia Pacific on the same date.

The 3 kilometer charity run was organized by Le Meridien Dhaka and Four Points by Sheraton Dhaka. Taking place for the first time this year, the Charity Run gathered more than 150 participants and was cheered by residents of Shishu Polli Plus. Medals were awarded to the winners, children from Shishu Polli Plus, by Abdullah Al Mamun, Hotel Manager of Four Points by Sheraton Dhaka, Rajesh Ramakrishnan, MD of Perfetti Van Melle Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd. and S.S. Alam Choudhury, Director of Programme Support of Shishu Polli Plus. A token of appreciation and donation amount presented to S.S. Alam Choudhury by Ashwani Nayar, General Manager of Le Meridien Dhaka. Funds raised through the Charity Run contributed towards Shishu Polli Plus  for their “Children’s Village”  located at Tengra providing long term rehabilitation services to the underprivileged children and their Mothers neglected due to poverty, social stigma and trauma. 

Main donors of the event were associates of the organizing hotels, private individuals and companies including Coca Cola, Perfetti Van Melle., Big Phat Cars, Amazing Holidays, Abedin Group of Industries, Li & Fung, Noman Group of Industries, Green Delta Securities Ltd. & Karim Associates Trading.
