DHAKA: Luna Shamsuddoha, the Trustee and former Vice Chairman of Education, Science, Technology and Cultural Development Trust (ESTCDT), the founding Trust of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and Chittagong Independent University (CIU); Member, Board of Trustees and the Syndicate of IUB; and the Chairman of Dohatec New Media, has received the prestigious “Bangladesh Business Award 2017” for her superlative success and exceptional contribution to the economy. 

Luna Shamsuddoha received this Award in ‘Outstanding Woman in Business’ category that has been jointly hosted by DHL Express and the Daily Star in the capital on May 5, 2017.

Luna is also the Managing Director, Global Voice Telecom Limited who started her journey two and half decades ago as an IT entrepreneur. She has set up an outstanding company to cater numerous clients both in home and abroad. Dohatec is now a globally reputed company that, in 2007, developed Bangladesh’s voter identity registration system. Later, the company developed the biometric registration system in Bangladesh.

Apart from that, Dohatec established the government’s electronic procurement system, known as e-GP. Dohatec provides software solutions and services to institutions, government agencies and corporations in the US, Canada, Germany, Switzerland. The firm is now set to develop the e-GP system for Bhutan.
