ACC sues Sohel Rana

SAVAR (DHAKA): Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has lodged a case against Sohel Rana, owner of collapsed building Rana Plaza, with Savar Model Police Station on charge of amassing illegal wealth of Tk 2.54 crore.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar model police station Mohsinul Kadir confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Monday (January 01).

ACC deputy director Mahbubul Alam, as plaintiff, filed the case on Sunday night, the OC added. The case number is: 68.

Earlier on May 15 in 2013, ACC asked Sohel Rana to submit his wealth statement to the commission through his lawyer in seven days but he did not respond to the commission notification.

Sohel Rana is the owner of Rana Plaza at Savar that collapsed on April 24, 2013 killing more than 1,100 people.
