World Cup winning U-19 Bangladesh team returns home

DHAKA: The World Cup winning Bangladesh U-19 squad returned home on Wednesday (Feb 12) afternoon.

An Emirates flight carrying the Akbar Ali-led team, who were unbeaten in the tournament, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 4:50 pm.

BCB directors and high-ups were present at the airport to welcome the champion.

Bangladesh won the first ever World Cup by beating India in the final of the U-19 World Cup in South Africa Sunday.

The BCB has already adorned its headquarters in Mirpur with huge banners of the triumphant players.

BCB President Nazmul Hassan earlier said they will arrange a grand reception ceremony for them later as most of the players are keen to go back to their villages now.
