Jahangirnagar University: Authorities are set to reopen Jahangirnagar University (JU) dormitories on Thursday after one month of closure following activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League attacked protesters who called for Vice-Chancellor Farzana Islam to resign on November 5.

The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting on Wednesday (Dec 04) afternoon.

The academic activities of the university will resume on December 8.

The agitated students have been demonstrating on the campus since August, demanding a judicial probe into the allegations of corruption and irregularities that took place before the approval of some construction projects of the university.
