DHAKA: Two students drowned while bathing in Ramna Park Lake on Sunday (August 12).

The victims were identified as Mahfuj and Adnan. Adnan was a resident of Gulbagh area of Shahjahanpur. They were 9th grade students of Wills Little Flower School of city’s Kakrail area.

Arif, classmate of the 2 victims said, “Three of them bunked off school and went to bathe in Ramna Park Lake. However, Adnan was bathing while resting on shoulders of Mahfuj. Only Mahfuj knew how to swim. As they both drowned, Arif screamed, people gathered to pull them out of water. After rescuing them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), doctors declared them dead at 4:15.”

Bacchu Miah, police outpost in-charge of DMCH, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
