6 B'baria men get life for murders

DHAKA: Brahmanbaria District and Sessions Judge's Court on Monday (July 18) sentenced six persons to life in prison in two murder cases.

Judge Mohammad Shafiul Azam pronounced the verdicts.

The convicts are-- Mohorrom Ali, 28, Md Alamgir, 28, Abdul Kadir, 48, Momen, 25, Suman, 25 and Fahad Mia, 22.

Court sources said Mohorrom, Alamgir and Kadir were convicted over murder of one Sohrab Chowdhruy, a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw driver from Bijoynagar upazila who went missing on April 21, 2015. 
The body was later recovered from under a bridge in Bulla-Tanpara area of the upazila.

Momen, Suman and Fahad were handed life term imprisonment over hacking to death one Tushar Mia, an expatriate from West Medda area of the district town, on June 29 in 2011, over a mobile phone set theft. 

In the same case, five other accused were sentenced to imprisonment in various terms.
