Barisal was squeezed out for 141 /8. Chattogram won by 10 runs. Earlier their bowling also restricted mighty Dhaka and Khulna to still lowers scores. Great to see Mustafiz getting back his rhyme and Young Sumon maturing.
Strong Barisal bowling playing four front line pacers could restrict Chattogram to 151. In the first two matches Chittagong bowlers restricted Dhaka and Khulna in the 80s and their openers Liton and Soumya overhauled those scores. Middle order was not exposed. Moreover, Mominul injuring his finger in the second match cannot contribute in the tournament further. Liton (35) again played well, but Soumya failing required middle and late order contributing. Barisal bowling is also penetrative. Jayed, Taskin, Rabbi and Sumon are not easy slogging. Still Mosaddeq (28), Shykat Ali (27) and Shamsur Rahman (27) led team posting 151/7. That score was proved enough for the strong Chattogram attack defending.
What has been seen so far Mustafiz is the most outstanding bowler of the tournament? Young Shariful is also impressing with every appearance. Nahidul, Mosaddeq are also bowling well. If Chattogram can post a decent total of 160 runs the brilliant bowling and smart fielding can make it difficult for any team.
On the other hand, Barisal batting largely depends on Tamim Iqbal. Today he was playing cautiously against quality attack. If his innings of run a ball 32 could be extended match could be won. Apart from him Afif scored 24 and Tawhid Hridoy 17. Mustafiz taking 3/23 and Shariful 3/27 took out wind from the sail of Barisal.
