Tigers beat Zimbabwe by 42 runs

DHAKA: Bangladesh won the consecutive second T20 match against the visiting Zimbabwe by 42 runs at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

In response to Bangladesh-set 168-run target in the match of the four-match Twenty 20 series, Zimbabwe scored 125 for eight.

Sabbir Rahman bagged 3 wickets while Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets.

Earlier the host won the toss and opted to bat first in the match that began at 3:00 pm (Bangladesh time) on Sunday (January 17).

They scored 167 runs for three after the end of the stipulated 20 overs.

Sabbir Rahman was adjudged Player of Match for his outstanding performance including the magnificent 43 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim scored 27 and 24 respectively.

Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar however went to pavilion after scoring 23 and 43 runs. Mahmudullah had taken only one run before WP Masakadza sent him back.

Earlier on Friday, tigers beat the visitors by four wickets with eight-ball to spare in the first Twenty20 match at the same venue.
