National Football team reaches Malaysia

DHAKA: Bangladesh national football team, led by Mamunul Islam Mamun, reached Malaysia on Thursday to play a FIFA International friendly match against Malaysia.

Earlier around 1:20 am, they left here for Malaysia en-route to Perth, Australia to play in the FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers/AFC Cup Qualifiers 2018 against World 61 ranked Asian champions Australia.

Bangladesh will face Australia on September 3.

Before leaving for Perth on August 30, the team in red and green will play the friendly match against Malaysian national team on August 29 at the Shah Alam Stadium in Kuala Lumpur as a part of their preparation of the Perth match against Australia.



Bangladesh team will return from Australia on Sept 4 to play their home match against another Asian giant Jordan on September 8 in Dhaka.

Bangladesh grouped with Australia, Jordan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to play home and away basis qualifying round matches.

Bangladesh squad: Mamunul Islam Mamun (captain), Rasel Mahmud, Shahidul Alam, Ashraful Islam Rana, Nasirul Islam Nasir, Rayhan Hasan, Tapu Barman, Yeamin Ahmed Chowdhury Munna, Yeasin Khan, Atiqur Rahman Meshu, Sohel Rana, Mohammad Linkon, Hemonta Vinsent Biswas, Jamal Bhuyan, Monaem Khan Raju, Emon Mahmud, Taklis Ahmed, Abdul Baten Majumder Komal, Zahid Hossain, Jahid Hasan Ameli, Aminur Rahman Sajib, Enamul Haque and Jewel Rana.
