Bangladesh for another whitewash

DHAKA: Having won the second one-dayer, Bangladesh wants to achieve 3-0 series whitewash against Zimbabwe when the last match starts on Wednesday afternoon.

The third and final ODI at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, to begin at 1:00pm, is possibly the last such game in Bangladesh this year.

The hosts have plenty of things to be cheerful for this year, beating Pakistan, India and South Africa in a remarkable period in the country's cricketing history.

"One can't lose hope. We still have to put out our best. You have to come back again and play hard and make sure we polish those mistakes from [Monday's] game, and win the game."
Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura

"We haven't thought about experimenting. We believe that that all the 14 players are capable of doing well. I believe that all the players will be serious and we will try to win again."
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza

Bangladesh whitewashed Zimbabwe 3-0 at home in December, 2014. Tigers then whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 at home.

Bangladesh then beat India 2-1 at home. Bangladesh then beat South Africa 2-1 at home. They have also qualified for the ICC Champion's Trophy.

Bangladesh previously whitewashed Zimbabwe back in 2006.

If Bangladesh whitewashes Zimbabwe today, it will be the sixth clean sweep in Tigers’ history.

Earlier in history, Bangladesh also whitewashed Kenya and New Zealand.
