SYDNEY: Brazilian striker Ricardinho on Thursday signed for two-time Australian A-League champions Melbourne Victory.

Ricardinho, 26, penned a two-year contract shortly after arriving in Melbourne on Thursday and was introduced to his new teammates at training.

The forward played with Brazilian clubs before moving to South Korea’s Jeju United last year, scoring five goals, before heading back to Brazil.

"He’s a very quick and very skilful player who will no doubt prove a real handful," Victory coach Ernie Merrick said.

"It’s been a long process, but we’ve said all along we wouldn’t be rushed into signing just any old striker and our patience was rewarded when Ricardinho agreed to come."
