Carry out research with responsibility

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thursday firmly urged the scientists for carrying out their researches with utmost labor and responsibility.

The Prime Minister came up with the urge while distributing this year's Bangabandhu Fellowship, National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship and financial assistance for research among students and researchers at a function at Osmani Memorial Hall in the capital.

The premier said “The fellowships and financial assistances are being provided from the taxes paid by the country’s poor people. So you should conduct your research work with utmost devotion and responsibility.”

Putting emphasis on scientific studies and practice of science, the PM said, "Science is linked with every sphere of our life. Nobody can step forward by ignoring science. A country cannot progress without practice and research of science and technology.”

State Minister for Science and Technology Yafez Osman, former Health Minister Dr Ruhal Haq and secretary of the Science and Technology Ministry Khandakar Asaduzzaman also addressed the program.
