Shakib hunts 2 Kiwis early

DHAKA: All rounder Shakib Al Hasan bagged the two first order batsmen of New Zealand in Pool A match of World Cup Friday.

McCullum and Williamson returned scoring 8 and 1 run respectively.

Earlier, unbeaten 128 runs off 123 balls by Mahmudullah propelled Bangladesh to set 289-run target for New Zealand.

Besides, Soumya, Sabbir and Shakib scored 51, 40 and 23 runs respectively to help team make a challenging total 288 runs for seven wickets.

Kiwi bowlers Boult, Andersion, Elliott bagged 2-wkt each. This is the first time NZ has had to be in the field for all fifty overs of the innings. 

Earlier, New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and opted to field.
