England beat Sri Lanka

DHAKA: Opener Alex Hales brought England the victory against Sri Lanka in a Group 1 match of World T20 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Thursday.

Hales was awarded Man of the Match for his brilliant ton. He secured 116 runs by facing 64 balls only.

Alex Hales became the first England player to score a Twenty20 century as they pulled off a memorable six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in World Twenty20 in the port city.

Earlier, Sri Lanka set a big target of 190-run in front of England in a Group 1 match of World T20.

Lankan batsmen Mahela Jayawardene and Tilakratne Dilshan’s second-wicket partnership of 145-run target before the the English team.

The match kicked-off at 7:30pm local time.

Earlier, England won the toss and elected to field at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium of the port city.
