Lankans want to win Ctg test

CHITTAGONG: The players of Sri Lanka desire to win the second test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong after beating the first one at Dhaka.

The opener batsman of Sri Lanka cricket team Kaushal Silva who made a maiden century against Bangladesh team at Dhaka test match hopes that the fifth and last day of Chittagong test will be in their favour.

The cricketer of Sri Lanka team came up with the observation at a press conference in the stadium after the game of day-4.

The spinners of the team are hoping to establish supremacy on Bangladeshi batsman so that they can meet with their desirable victory.

Besides that Bangladeshi players are in trouble as Kumara Sangakara has already made four hundreds. It would be really tough task to do to come closer to the goal for Bangladeshi players.

Keeping all these in minds Silva further said “We have 90 more overs to bowl and we hope that we will be able to defeat Bangladesh team by taking 10-wicket within this period.”

However, Tamim Iqbal and Shamsur Rahman bat last eight overs of Friday and scored 7 and 4 runs respectively while total score was 12 Friday.

Earlier, Sri Lanka declared innings scoring 466 runs, including lead of 1st innings, in 75.5 overs with six wickets remaining in their second innings on fourth day.
 
Sangakkara and Dinesh Chandimal scored 105 and 100 runs respectively.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh lost all ten wickets to score 426 runs trailing Sri Lanka by 161 runs.

Earlier on Tuesday, the two tons of Shamsur Rahman and Imrul Kayes helped Bangladesh survive in their first innings against the big 587-run score of the Sri Lanka.

Shamsur Rahman and Imrul Kayes were bowled out after getting 106 and 115 runs.

Mendis captured six Bangladeshi wickets for 99 and Perera bagged three wickets while Lakmal bagged the wicket.

Sri Lanka scored 587 runs for all wickets in the first innings on the second day of the test.

Sangakkara and Jayawardene scored 319 and 72 runs respectively.

Shakib Al Hasan bagged five wickets while Nasir Hossain took two wickets. Besides, Al-Amin Hossain, sohag Gazi and Mahmudullah picked up one wicket each.

Earlier on January 30, Sri Lanka won the first Test against the hosts by innings and 248 runs in Mirpur.
