Injury-struck Indian pace spearhead Mohammed Shami is all set to make a remarkable return to international cricket in the upcoming home series against Bangladesh, ending his lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The fiery fast bowler has been out of action since last year's ODI World Cup due to an ankle injury but has recovered successfully after undergoing surgery.

In a big boost for the Men in Blue, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has announced that Shami is likely to feature in the Bangladesh series scheduled for September.

“Shami's surgery is done, he is back in India and raring to go. We are optimistic about his return for the high-voltage clashes against our neighbors,” Shah stated.

This means Shami will unfortunately miss the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia later this year as the team management won't rush his comeback. However, the India fans can witness the skills of the seasoned pacer once again on home soil against Bangladesh.

It will be a massive confidence boost for Shami to rejoin the national squad after recovering from the severe injury blow.

With his sheer pace and ability to claim crucial wickets, Shami will bolster India's already impressive bowling attack.

The upcoming series presents him with a golden opportunity to reminding everyone of his class with an impressive bowling performance. Shami's return will undoubtedly energize the Indian team as they aim to dominate Bangladesh in their own backyard.
