RAJSHAHI: Police during a raid held five Shibir cadres of Rajshahi University at Kajla gate in front of the campus here at 9 pm on Tuesday.

The detainees are Nuruddin and Shimul, masters while Abdul Hi Siddique, Md Sohel and Habib Ullah, fourth year students of the Islamic studies department.

Besides, Shibir activist Abul Hasan Firoj and also a third year student of RU was detained at Mirazapur in Mothihar at around 10 pm, said Mothihar thana OC Abul Khayer.

The Shibir activists-leaders were accused in 10 cases including Faruk murder and the six would be shown arrested in connection with any one of the cases, he added.

Earlier on 9 February this year Faruk Hossain, final year student of the mathematics department and also a Bangladesh Chhatra League worker was killed during the clashes of RU between BCL and Chhatra Shibir.
