Dhaka’s Detective Branch (DB) has arrested nine leaders and activists linked to the proscribed Awami League and its affiliated organisations, including Shahadat—brother of the party's general secretary Obaidul Quader.

Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, confirmed the arrests to the press on Thursday (October 16). 

Further details on the specific allegations and where the detainees were held were not immediately disclosed.
