Veteran politician, freedom fighter, and Gono Forum president Mostafa Mohsin Montu passed away this afternoon while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka. He was 80.

Montu breathed his last at 5:10 pm, confirmed party leader Mahmud Ullah Madhu. 

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at 9:00 pm at Katabon Dhal Baitul Mamur Jame Mosque.

Montu was widely respected for his role in the Liberation War and lifelong dedication to democratic ideals.
