Delhi plotting to divide Bangladesh, says Nahid Islam Nahid Islam, Convener of the Nationalist Citizens’ Party (NCP)

Nahid Islam, Convener of the Nationalist Citizens’ Party (NCP), on Friday claimed that a fresh plan is being made from Delhi to destabilize Bangladesh and divide the nation.

He made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page in the evening.

“Our goal is to free Bangladesh’s politics from all forms of dominance and run the country independently and with full sovereignty,” Nahid wrote.

He said: “Bangladesh has been divided and national unity has been destroyed multiple times to keep the country weak.”

Nahid alleged that after the ban on the Awami League, attempts are again being made from Delhi to create unrest and push the country toward instability. “Plans are being made to block democratic transition and create a situation similar to the 1/11 episode,” he claimed.

Calling for unity, the NCP leader urged patriotic, pro-Bangladesh and religious citizens—especially students—to remain united for sovereignty, reform, and the July uprising. He also called on patriotic army officers and soldiers to stay prepared to defend Bangladesh and its sovereignty.

Nahid further said, “Professor Yunus must protect his promises to the people regarding reform, justice and voting rights. He must resolve political issues while staying in charge. The July declaration must be issued within the set timeframe.”

He added that the election will be held within the announced timeline. “Before the election, the July reform charter must be finalized, and a visible trial process for the July massacre must begin, along with a roadmap. Elections for a new Constitution-drafting National Assembly and legislature must be held together.”
