Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia announced in a verified Facebook post, “On the way to home,” signaling her return to Dhaka from London.

She is now set to arrive in Dhaka on 6 May—one day later than initially planned.

The rescheduling was earlier confirmed by Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Chairperson’s media team.

She is expected to fly back aboard a special air ambulance arranged by the Emir of Qatar. Two of her daughters-in-law are likely to accompany her during the journey.

Khaleda Zia departed for London on 8 January to receive advanced medical treatment. Her travel was facilitated by a royal aircraft provided by Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following a medical assessment.

After spending 17 days under care at The London Clinic, she was moved to her elder son and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s residence in London, where she continues to receive treatment.

Now 79, Khaleda Zia has been battling several chronic health conditions, including liver cirrhosis, kidney problems, heart disease, diabetes, and arthritis.
