DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee is set to sit in a special meeting on Thursday evening at party chairperson’s Gulshan office for the stocktaking of country’s latest political situation that saw some major developments.
One of BNP top leaders told banglanews24.com.bd that the meeting would discuss some issues, including the arrest of top leaders of BNP and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami during and after the June 27 hartal.
Party chairperson Khaleda Zia will presided over the meeting of the BNP policymaking body at 7 pm.
Sources said the meeting has been convened to chalk out next course of action as opposition leaders are being “repressed through attacking, arresting and suing them serially”.
