The National Citizen Party (NCP) will stage a protest rally today (May 2) at 3pm in front of the south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, demanding the trial of the Awami League for alleged mass killings during the July uprising and a ban on its political activities.

Organized by NCP’s Dhaka metropolitan unit, the rally will feature speeches from central party leaders. 

Convener Nahid Islam has urged city residents to join the demonstration through a video message.

Since April 1, the NCP has been organizing torch processions and distributing leaflets across Dhaka to build public support for their demands.
