Japan to give Bangladesh more Covid vaccines in Nov

Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki said his country would provide more vaccine doses in the next month to help Bangladesh overcome the Covid situation.

He said, "Hopefully in November we'll be able to provide further vaccine to Bangladesh."

Japan plans to provide vaccine doses further, mainly under COVAX, the envoy said while addressing the "DCAB Talk" at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) on Thursday.

DCAB President Pantho Rahaman and its General Secretary AKM Moinuddin also spoke at the event.

Ito Naoki, in his speech, appreciated Bangladesh's achievement in Covid-19 management under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership.

This is a great achievement and great efforts by the government and its people, he said.

He also expressed satisfaction over the supply of 3 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Bangladesh, as those doses were effectively utilized.

He assured of more support to Bangladesh in the coming days to address the Covid-related challenges.
