The government will start first dose of Chinese vaccine from May 25/26, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque.

The Minister was responding to a question from reporters at the secretariat.

He said the Chinese vaccines which have already reached the country, will be administered from May 25.

"We have talked to some other countries including Russia, China, UK and USA for the vaccine and it will be finalised soon," he also said.

"So far, 70 lakh doses from India reached Dhaka, though order for 3 crore. The 2nd dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will run out within seven to ten days," the minister said.

“To get the 2nd dose of the vaccine, we contacted the Indian High Commissioner...we also talked to the UK authorities. The Prime Minister herself is handling the matter,” Zahid Maleque said.
