The government has extended the ongoing 'lockdown' or restriction on movement for seven more days to contain the spread of coronavirus infection countrywide.
The lockdown will remain in force from May 17-23, the Cabinet Division on Sunday issued a gazette notification.
This year, the government initially imposed the countrywide restrictions on public movement on April 5. Later it enforced strict lockdown from April 14.
To contain the spread of coronavirus infection, the government has already extended the lockdown several times which will be ended this midnight.
During lockdown, the buses are being allowed to ply within the district following the hygiene rules.
However, inter-district and long-route bus services, train and launch services, remain suspended.
