Bangladesh's Meteorological Department has issued a forecast warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across all eight divisions over the coming days, as the monsoon system remains active over the country and the adjoining Bay of Bengal.

On Monday (Sept 15), meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman stated that a low-pressure system over Telangana and surrounding areas has become insignificant.

However, the monsoon trough now stretches from Rajasthan across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and northern Bangladesh, extending further into Assam.

The monsoon remains active over Bangladesh and is strong to very strong over the northern Bay.

According to the forecast valid until Tuesday (September 16) morning, most areas of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions are expected to experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by light to moderate rain or thundershowers.

Isolated locations across the country may witness moderate to very heavy rainfall. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures are likely to drop slightly.

For the 24-hour period beginning Tuesday morning, similar conditions are forecast across the country, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers expected in most areas of the eight divisions. Some regions may continue to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
