DHAKA: Government has made National Institute of Mass Communication director general AKM Shamim Chowdhury as the Principal Information Officer (PIO) of Press Information Department.

A recent information ministry circular made this decision, said a press note on Sunday (February 28).

Earlier, a BCS (information-general) cadre Shamim Chowdhury worked in several posts including Prime Minister’s press secretary, Bangladesh Betar director general, and film and publications department director general.
