BHOLA: At least five people went missing as a cargo ship sank off Meghna River near to Patarchar under Manpura Upazila of the district on Monday.

The vessel named Jamir Shah, carrying different goods including rice and pulse, was heading toward Manpura from Barisal and capsized off the river due to storm around 11:30am.

Manpura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Ershad Ali said on information, police have been sent to the spot.
