3 Myanmar nationals held with 1.25 lakh yaba tablets

COX’S BAZAR: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel detained three Myanmar nationals and seized 125,200 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from the estuary of Naf River in Teknaf upazila of district Thursday morning.

Details of the detainees could not be known.

Lieutenant Colonel Abu Zar Al-Zahid, commanding officer (CO) of BGB Battalion-42 in Teknaf confirmed the matter to banglanews

Al-Zahid said that acting on a tip-off, a team of the BGB force conducted a drive in the estuary around 7:00am, nabbed three Myanmar nationals and sized the contraband tablets and two trawlers.

The sized yaba tablet is worth about Tk 3.75 crore.

The detainees were handed over to Teknaf Thana police after filing case under drugs and the control of entry act, added the CO.
