DHAKA: Customs officials detained a man along with counterfeit Indian currency worth about Rs 2 crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Thursday.
The detainee was identified as Sazzad Hossain, 50.
Customs assistant commissioner Farid Al Mamun confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Farid said the man landed at the airport by a Qatar Airways flight (QR-634) around 4:00am.
Officials found the fake Indian currency after scanning his luggage and nabbed him, seizing the notes.
A cartoon of foreign cigarette has also been seized from his possession, added the commissioner.
