Bangladesh gets permission of plane landing in Yemen

DHAKA: Bangladesh government has got permission to land its planes in Yemen capital Sana’a to return its stranded nationals in the strife-torn country.

Sources in Bangladesh foreign ministry informed the media Wednesday afternoon.

According to the sources, Bangladesh planes will be allowed to land at Sana’a airport on April 12, 13 and 14. But number of the flights will be decided soon.

However, at least 42 Bangladesh nationals have been rescued from Yemen and taken to its neighboring Djibouti.

SM Mahbubul Alam, political counselor of Bangladesh embassy in Kuwait, staying in Djibouti, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that 42 rescued Bangladesh nationals were rescued from Yemen port city Aden and now safely staying in Djibouti.

Among them, seven are women and 6 children, he added.

Earlier on April 7, nine stranded Bangladeshis were rescued from a airport in Sana’a.
