Biman resumes domestic flights Monday

DHAKA: Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to resume its full-blown domestic operations from Monday as per earlier announcement and new schedule.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the flight at Shahjalal International Airport Sunday.

The premier said, “Biman is going to resume its internal service through the addition of Dash8 Q400s and our election pledge is going to be implanted.”

Indicating the Biman officials, she said, “You all have to keep in mind that Biman represents Bangladesh in abroad. And our honor is related to your professionalism.”

With effect from 6 April, per week, Biman will operate 6 flights to Cox’s bazar, 5 to Jessore, 3 to both Rajshahi and Syedpur and 2 to Barisal. Furthermore, it will add up to 25 additional frequencies per week on Chittagong and Sylhet. The total number of seats will grow almost 80% weekly to a considerable 14,010.

Under the programme, Biman will operate more than 120 flights per week within the country which will oversee a huge growth in domestic operations by the flag-carrier after a long recession.

Besides, Biman has made a lucrative offer of BDT 2,700 fare (Including VAT) in all destinations within the county. The offer will be valid till April and passengers can travel from June 15 to 30 with the offered package.
