DHAKA: A fire broke out at the garment factory housed at the Khan Plaza Market in Shyamoli area of the capital on Tuesday midnight.

Originated around 11:30pm, the fire soon engulfed the Deluxe Apparel Limited, located on the seventh floor of the market.  

Fire Service and Civil Defense control room Inspector M Ali told banglanews that on information, a total of 14 fire fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 12:50am Wednesday.
 
An officer of the factory said that no causality was reported in the fire as none was trapped inside the building.

The damage caused by the fire could be estimated, said Sohag, an official of the factory.
