DHAKA: Five women leaders of the country were honored by “Award of Excellence in Women Leadership” for their outstanding performance in different sectors including RMG, IT, Culture and Media, Government and Financial Institute.
They were awarded in an interactive session titled “Celebrate the Women’s Day 2015 - Make it Happen” held at Daffodil International University (DIU) of the city on Sunday afternoon.
Professionals and Intellectuals Networking Community (PINC) and Daffodil International University (DIU) jointly organized the program.
The awarded women’s are Anowara Begam , Director SM group of companies (Entrepreneurs Category); Naznin Kamal, Managing Director Anupam Infotek Limited (Entrepreneurs Category, IT); Farzana Khan, DGM, SME foundation (Professional Category); Suporna Roy, Local Development Expert in Access to Information (a2i) Programme, Prime Minister’s Office (Professional Category); Elita Karim, Editor, The star (A weekly Publication of The Daily Star)( Young Star in Journalism Category).
Jahrat Adip Choudhury, President of PINC delivered the welcome speech where Secretary Rezwana Khan of PINC presented teh keynote speech.
A biographical presentation on the award winners were shared by Naznin Nahar, Vice President of PINC.
Vice Chancellor Dr M Lutfar Rahman of DIU said “women are essence of life we need to care and be with them so that they can grow and we cross India in some contest of development especially in female education and leadership”.
Managing Director Hosne Ara Begum (NDC) of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority was present as the Chief Guest where President Tapan Kanti Sarkar of CTO Forum Bangladesh, Professor and Former Chairperson Dr Suraiya Parveen of CSE, CEO Farhana A Rahman of UY system Limited and Former Vice President of BASIS were present as the Special guest.
Professor Dr Syed Akhter Hossain of DIU and also Head of CSE, moderated the program.
