BOGRA: At least five people, including three of a family, were killed and seven others injured after a truck stormed into a road side fruits shop in Bogra Sadar on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Loya Mia, shopkeeper Ismail, Nuru, Afroza Begum and Ahmed.

Sub Inspector of Bogra Sadar Thana Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said, a patrol team of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) asked the truck to stop in the morning. But the truck driver became reckless and stormed into a fruit shop in Baghopara, leaving the casualties.

Police and fire service personnel rushed to spot and carried out rescue operation.

The injured were sent to Shaheed Zia Medical College, he added.
