DHAKA: As per an accord signed between the governments of Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, a total of 101,758 persons can leave Bangladesh for Saudi Arabia to perform holy hajj this year.
Bangladesh religious affairs minister Motiur Rahman, who is currently leading a delegation in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi hajj minister Bandar bin Mohammed bin Hamza Asaad Al Hajjar signed the accord in this regard on Thursday.
Religious affairs ministry senior information officer Mohammad Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He further said 10,000 balloted and 91,758 non-balloted pilgrims can go to Saudi Arabia this year to perform hajj.
